Summer Literacy Contests: Alberta Students Shine

Rima Kaddoura, a 16-year-old from Calgary, AB took first place honors in the Varsity category at the 2011 National Braille Challenge® that took place in Los Angeles over the summer.  This event aims to test the braille reading, writing, spelling and proofreading abilities of its participants.  As you may recall from an earlier article, she and fellow Albertan Erick Seed were the only two students from Alberta who qualified as finalists for this year’s competition.  Click here to read more about Rima and the Braille Challenge®.
