Description: Introductory music begins to play. Title page appears, myReader2 Basics, Operating the Control Panel, Online Video Training Modules, Alberta Education. The narrator describes each control on the control panel starting on the top left 5, and then second row’s remaining 3, moving from left to right. Narrator: Now that we have explored the back of the unit we now turned it around to show you how to use the basic features of it. In going through the control panel everything is labeled in large print starting with the size which is a spin dial the live or menu button depending on what mode you’re in, a square, picture changes the contrast and those are each different settings of color. The speed button is used in some menus if you’re in advanced mode or simply if you scan document for moving up and down relatively quickly. Unlike other CCTV devices this auto reader has a trackball for easily moving back and forth on the screen. You will have noted that there is no XY table. Documents are placed within the white border. Using the track ball once someone has scanned the document one can move easily back and forth or up and down to see what images are on that page. The last three buttons on the front row are capture, view, next and stop. Capture is a very important button if one is trying to take the live image and scan it digitally and save it in one of the memory cells. View toggles through three different settings whether you’re seeing original scanned image as it was originally placed under the viewer or as this is an auto reader device it will take the text on the page and align it either in a column for ease of reading or in one continuous sentence. Using the next or stop button allows you to move to the next portion of text on a page without having to use the track ball or adjust the speed; simply pressing next will go to the next portion that you want to read.
