Description: Introductory music begins to play. Title page appears, PAC Mate Basics, Basic Navigation, Online Video Training Modules, Alberta Education. Narrator: Hi my name is Ryan. This module is called basic navigation. The first thing I知 going to do is turn my PAC Mate on and you値l hear an ascending tone. When the PAC Mate first comes on you are place on what is called the today screen. To navigate that screen I can use my arrow keys. So I知 just going to press the down arrow and you can hear the different items as they become highlighted. The today screen is a quick glance at what you have happening for today. I知 going to open the start menu now by pressing the F4 key. You can hear jaws give you a little bit of information about opening the start menu and reading the first item that痴 highlighted. Again navigating the start menu is as easy as pressing the down arrow. I can also press the up arrow to move back up through the menu. So now that we know how to navigate the start menu I知 going to open FS Edit. FS Edit is the main word processing program you値l use on the PAC Mate. F6- FS Edit. So it opens up FS Edit and asks you if you would like to make your new document a Grade 2 Braille file. For this I知 just going to hit enter which is Dot 8 which will say yes. I知 now placed in my new blank document. To navigate menus in a specific program such as FS Edit I press the F2 key-Menus. You hear jaws say file. Again I can use my down arrows to move through the menus and it wraps back around a file. If I want to open one of these menu items I would press enter again which is Dot 8. So it clicked on the file menu and opened it up to the first item which is new. Again I知 in a submenu which I can use my down arrow to navigate through. That痴 how you navigate menu bars in a program. So this concludes the basic navigation module. Description: End page appears displaying 2009 Alberta Education, Thanks to Ryan Fleury from Aroga, Video Produced by Box Clever, www.boxclever.ca
