This module is called Resetting the PAC Mate. There are two types of resets on the PAC Mate a warm reset and a hard reset. The main reasons for having to do a reset is because your PAC Mate isn’t performing properly. Maybe the Braille display hasn’t come up, maybe you’ve lost speech or the PAC Mate just isn’t functioning the way it should. In order to do a warm reset on the PAC Mate you press and hold the power switch in the on position for about twenty seconds and then let go. There won’t be a tone or anything to tell you that the PAC Mate is now doing a reset, but once the reset has completed the PAC Mate will come up and start speaking again. Now that the warm reset has completed your PAC Mate should be functioning properly. If you find that you still have no speech or you have no Braille or the PAC Mate is just not behaving we can do the hard reset. In order to do the hard reset we need to lift up the PAC Mate and find the recessed hole on the back. There is a raised ring around the recessed button that you need a straightened paper clip to reach in there and depress the little button. Once that button is pressed the PAC Mate after a few seconds will reset itself back to the factory default and everything should be working properly. This concludes the resetting module.
