Description: Introductory music begins to play. Title page appears, PAC Mate Tutorials, Using ActiveSync on Windows XP, Online Video Training Modules, Alberta Education. Narrator: Hi my name is Ryan. This module is called Using ActiveSync with Windows XP. Using Microsoft ActiveSync on XP is slightly different than Windows Vista. What I知 going to show you is how to use ActiveSync on XP to connect your PAC Mate and transfer files between the two devices. I have the USB connected to the back of the PAC Mate and now I知 plugging the other end into the laptop. Windows makes a sound to say that the two devices are now connecting. There are two types of connections using Microsoft ActiveSync on XP. There is a standard connection and a guest connection. The standard connection allows you to synchronize your context, your calendar, your tasks and notes so that any changes you make on the computer are reflected on your PAC Mate. We池e just going to choose a guest partnership which will allow us to transfer files back and forth. To do that I知 going to press tab and go to the cancel button. I知 going to press enter. So we池e now connected. I知 going to press the windows key and the letter E to open windows explorer. Windows explorer opens, I知 going to press tab to move into the my computer folder. The name of the icon we池e looking for is mobile device. I知 just going to type and M and there it is, so let痴 press enter to open that. We池e now looking at the files and folders I have on the PAC Mate. If I wanted to move the file from PAC Mate to my computer I can just select the file I want. So I知 going to hit my down arrow to find a file. Let痴 take Lesson one. I知 going to type control C to copy that file to the clipboard and then I知 going to press the windows key to open up my start menu. I知 going to type a D for my documents and press enter. Now that I知 in my documents I知 going to press control V to paste that file from the PAC Mate onto the computer. The Lesson one file is now on my computer. This concludes the module on using ActiveSync with Windows XP. Description: Eng page appears, 2009 Alberta Education, Thanks to Ryan Fleury from Aroga, Video Produced by Box Clever, www.boxclever.ca
